Barbie IS REAL!!

Barbie is a HUGE inspiration for me (and probably everyone else). Like an imaginary friend you never quite grow out of- she is ever present and has been an extreme comfort in times of duress.
Here are a few snap shots of her Malibu Mansion. Some girls have all the luck- what with living in CA and being so evenly tanned....

Kelly Green Bedroom

I took a little trip through google's world of canopy beds and stumbled upon a site called Decor Pad- and look at this room- the color scheme is so dramatic, not to mention that canopy is very glam! Someday this will be my bedroom!

Trip in Time

Recently my great aunt was here for a visit. I enjoy her immensely, especially because she loves to shop and decorate almost as much as I do! And on our little adventure to Durango the other day, I noticed a charming bed n breakfast- and I can honestly say that I felt as though the earth pivoted and I was either thrown into another dimension of time or transported to a small east coast village. Thought I'd share some photos. Hope they inspire you as much as they did me!

eZENtially decor

On a recent antiquing hunt, I found these adorable little Japs!
But what delights me even more than finding something unique and charming- it's a story to go along with it. These minuscule statues came from a deceased collector who moved from Japan to the U.S. in the early sixties. Apparently his children brought them into the antique mart, and were the last of his possessions to sell from the place! I was lucky to happen upon them- all alone in the corner.

Several google searches and nothing has come up regarding these two. If you know anything about the value of this ceramic couple- please don't hesitate to contact me!

Perspectives

So, there's this lamp of mine that I absolutely j'adore! It's James-Bond-meets-Barbie-Dream-House! And the other night, as I gazed at it admiringly, I realized I should do something to make sure it stays immortalized forever and ever! So I quickly sketched it and after a two hour hunt for my favorite water colour set- voila! Mod art!

St. Patty's Day!

On St. Patrick's Day, when I woke up I was pleasantly surprised to find what all awaited me in the bathroom! Indeed, it had been decked out with Irish clover by the decor mastermind (mom) herself! Thanks for everything!

Christmas 2009

Other than hanging a few ornaments and lights in my room, this year my decorum was rather minimal. Next year I definitely have some big ideas I want to try out, so we'll see!

One of my favorite things to do is deck the halls- in my bathroom. I don't know how it happened, but as far as being festive, I've become my mother.

Hansel? Gretel?

Since one of my bathroom walls was seeming a little naked, I did a simple painting of a jolly snowman (which ended up a little more anime than I had originally planned).

It really is the most wonderful time of the year!!
